Welcome message from the President of 36th JSID meeting |
 |
It is my great honor and pleasure to hold the 36th JSID annual meeting as well as JSID-Asia-Oceania-Forum in Kyoto in December, 2011. JSID is a society with special intensity for our generation's dermatologists. When I was a resident, I participated in the dermatology research club held in the auditorium of Kanazawa University, which was my first encounter with JSID. Although participants were very small at that time, I really felt their enthusiastic zeal to research which eventually invited me to research afterwards. While experiencing the Board member for 15 years, and the Chief Editor of JDS for five years, JSID grew tremendously resulting in the equaled quantity and quality of SID. I am very proud of having run in it with contemporary friends.
However, it is very regrettable that research-oriented young dermatologists are decreasing in number by the change of the training system or their consciousness and willingness for research. Even if it does not inquire throughout life, touching a science at certain time with dermatologist life, striving toward a target, and being devoted to an experiment surely make subsequent clinical dermatologist life rich. Broad-minded tolerance appears also in clinical decision if clinicians understand science. I really wish earnestly that many young dermatologists are concerned about research, stepping toward the scientific clinical dermatologist thru this meeting of JSID. |
