ESDR/JSID Young Fellow Collegiality Awards       Following the successful IID meeting in Kyoto in May 2008, the JSID and the ESDR are keen to develop new opportunities for international interaction and collegiality between members of the two societies.     A key objective of both the JSID and the ESDR is to promote the academic career development of young fellows in investigative dermatology.     To that end, we are co-ordinating a program of intersociety collegiality.     Our vision is to help young and promising researchers obtain international exposure of their work at an early stage in their career and thereby help develop their professionalism and sense of achievement.     We believe this is a great way of stimulating academic exchange as well as new professional interactions and collaborations.     The proposed collegiality program is quite simple. For example, a research active fellow in Japan, who regularly attends and contributes to the JSID meetings, would be encouraged to submit an abstract (different data) for presentation at the ESDR meeting.     En route to, or on the way back from, the ESDR meeting the JSID/ESDR would help support a visit for that fellow to attend a Department or Institute at which he/she could present some data and enjoy some academic discussions/feedback, as well as some local hospitality.     A reciprocal arrangement would also be in place, whereby a research active fellow in Europe would have a similar opportunity to participate in the JSID meeting and to visit a department in Japan.     With that in mind, the JSID has decided to change the language of the main part of its meeting from Japanese to English. This means that all oral presentations, posters and slides will be in English.     This change will start at the JSID 2009 meeting in Fukuoka.     The JSID/ESDR collegiality awards will be introduced in 2009 for the following annual meetings: ESDR meeting: Budapest, Hungary. 9-12 September 2009 JSID meeting: Fukuoka, Japan. 4-6 December 2009     ・Award details for JSID Researchers ・Award details for ESDR Researchers                     Page top
