7th Combined Meeting of Orthopaedic Research Societies

It is a great honor and privilege to invite you to 7th Combined Meeting of the Orthopaedic Research Societies(CORS), which will be held at Kyoto International Conference Center, Kyoto, Japan, from October 16 to 20, 2010.<For the convenience of the participants, this meeting will take place right after the 25th Annual Research Meeting of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association.>

Not only an academic aspect, but also this meeting offers various social programs. We are sure that each one of them will be unique event to this conference held in the ancient capital of Japan.

Kyoto is one of the most popular tourist cities in Japan. Near the conference venue, there are many sites which have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage list. October is the best time to visit Kyoto. It has many nice places for viewing autumn colors, such as Kiyomizu and Kinkakuji Temple.

I look forward to seeing you at the meeting and I promise that it will be a memorable opportunity for scientific communication and socialization.

Musculoskeletal diseases are a global issue. A "Bone and Joint Decade" movement is currently under way and the importance of locomotive organs is gradually being recognized throughout the world. In this situation, the role of CORS, an international group of the orthopaedic research societies of the world, has become more and more important. It is a great honor for us to hold the 7th meeting of CORS in Japan. On behalf of the Japanese Orthopedic Association, I would like to express our sincere thanks and welcome to the delegates and members of each society.

As you know, a basic research is indispensable to assure new development in clinical practice in the the future. Both basic and clinical research have long been intensively conducted in Japan, and an Annual Research Meeting has been held every year since 1986. I am therefore confident that this 7th CORS meeting offers a fertile and appropriate location where specialist from all countries of the world can exchange knowledge and energize their research minds.
