  • All Presenting authors (oral and poster) must register for the meeting and pay the appropriate registration fee indicated on the registration form by July 26 (Mon.) (Japan Standard Time)

Speakers' and Poster Information

 
 

Oral Presentation

  • Please check the timetable (PDF).
  • Material presented must reflect the material summarized in your submitted abstract.
  • Presentations are strictly limited to 7 minutes, followed by a 3-minute discussion period.
  • The presenting author may, and is encouraged to bring an interpreter to assist them during the question and answer period following the podium presentation. The interpreter must pay the appropriate registration fees.
  • The standard presentation format is by computer. Each room will include a personal computer (PC) with Microsoft Office XP & Adobe Acrobat Readers. One digital projection system will be available for single projection of presentations.
  • It is extremely important that you visit the Speaker Ready Room to load and review your presentation at least one hour before the starting time of you session. The speakers of the first session of the day are recommended to bring in the data the day before. The Speaker Ready Room is located in Room H of the Kyoto International Conference Center (ICC Kyoto).

  • Speakers are requested to bring USB flash memory drive containing presentation materials or their own laptop computers. If your presentation material includes video clips, please bring your own laptop computer.
  • Please be seated at the Next Speaker's seat (in front of the podium) 10 minutes prior to your presentation time.
  • Speakers are also requested to bring a backup copy of their presentation data in case of unexpected accidents.

[USB Flash Memory]

  • The meeting secretariat will provide computers with Windows XP and Microsoft Power Point 2003/2007, Adobe Acrobat Readers. The data format in the USB flash memory are required to be compatible with these computers.
  • The presentation data is checked and copied to the organizer's computers by the technical staffs. The meeting secretariat will be responsible for destroying all presentation data at the end of the meeting.
  • Speakers are requested to scan their presentation data with the most updated virus scan software prior to saving their data.
  • The file name should indicate the presentation number and the presenter's name.

[Laptop Computer]

  • Western Japan, including Kyoto, is on 100 V, 60 Hz. The plug type in Japan is type A with two flat blades without a ground pin, the same type widely used in the USA and Canada.
  • Speakers' laptops must be equipped with a D-Sub 15-pin output, standard monitor terminal. Some thin, light-weighted laptop computers (SONY VAIO Note, Apple PowerBook G4) do not have built-in ports.
  • Speakers are requested to bring their own adapter for connection between PC and projector, an electric transformer when these are necessary.
  • All energy-conserving functions such as screen-savers, sleep/power saving modes should be disabled on laptops to be used in the presentation.
 
 

Poster Presentation

  • Poster will be displayed in Event Hall, Saturday October 16, through Wednesday, October 20. (No replacement)
  • Poster Reception and Poster Sessions will be held as follows; the presenter should stand by the poster during these sessions. Presentation No. will be announced in August on the meeting website.

Poster Sessions : Monday, 18 October & Wednesday, 20 October

  • Posters must reflect the material summarized in your submitted abstract.
  • The size of the poster board is 90 cm wide and 210 cm high. Please leave blank the extreme upper left for the abstract number (20 cm X 20 cm). The secretariat will prepare the abstract number cards.
  • All posters should be prepared in English, easily readable from 1.5 meters away.
  • Poster Setup:
    Saturday, 16 October 14:00 - 17:30
    Push pins will be provided at the poster presentation rooms.
  • Poster Removal:
    Wednesday, 20 October 13:00 - 13:30
  • As the secretariat assumes no responsibility for the loss or damage of the posters left, presenter should remove the materials by the end of removal time.
