第17回光老化研究会

Greeting

Dear Colleagues,

As a president of the 17th Annual Meeting of the Society for Photo-Aging Research in Kobe, it is my great pleasure and honor to welcome you to the meeting from Asia and Oceania. The meeting is aimed to present novel papers and have deep discussions for better understanding of the mechanisms and treatments of photo-aging skin, particularly focusing on “wrinkles and sagging of the skin” and
“ pigmented skin disorders caused by solar radiation. We have two days, and are planning to have three symposia the one for “ wrinkle and sagging” from basic research to discuss roles of collagen, elastic fibers and other tissues including SMAS, and the second symposium for their treatments. The third symposium is for the sunlight –induced pigmented skin disorders covering both causal mechanisms and treatments. We also have a special session to present and discuss a role of mitochondria and AhR in the development of photo-aging, since mitochondria is now known as a new target for the control of photo-aging , specially induced by infra-red radiation. AhR has been recognized as one of the key receptors for an important pathway to maintain redox balance to keep homeostasis of the skin including immunity, in addition to detoxification of environmental chemicals.

Further, world-wide famous dermatologists and basic researchers are invited to present updated data related to photo-aging, including a new trend for sun-protection.

The meeting will be great helpful to exchange our recent information and mutual interests, and also to exchange friendship among countries.

We expect this meeting in Kobe will be develop in future as an impressive and fruitful gathering for clinicians and basic scientists of academia and companies. We are looking forward to seeing you in Kobe in August, 2016.
